Dual Enrollment (DE): About

What is Dual Enrollment?

The purpose of the Dual  Enrollment program is to promote and increase access to postsecondary educational opportunities for Georgia high school students while increasing high school graduation rates, preparing a skilled workforce, and decreasing the time and cost of postsecondary credential completion. Georgia’s Dual Enrollment  Program provides funding for students who are dually enrolled in a participating public high school and post-secondary institution in  Georgia. Students take postsecondary coursework for credit towards both high school graduation requirements and postsecondary certificates, diplomas, or associate degree requirements. Georgia has created a  singular program known as  Dual Enrollment for eligible students in grades 10-12.  Students may enroll on a part-time or full-time basis as Dual Enrollment students and take college courses at their high school or a postsecondary campus. Students will receive high school and college credit simultaneously when attending and passing eligible dual-enrollment college classes.
